Friday 11/20 - CANCELLED

Friday will be one of those rare days we are not hosting a pizza Friday. We are taking the party on the road to celebrate Michelle and Tom's B-days. Who knew I actually know three people w/ b-day's today. Congrats to all three.

But, do know that you and/or your family are invited over for Thanksgiving dinner. There will be food, wine, people. Oh, and even a Turkey. Sound good? Great. That will make up for our lack of hospitality this week. Sorry.

But you - yeah you - show up already. You know you have been meaning to. Start early, hang out, leave when you (or your kid) gets cranky. It is an easy task.

Friday the 13th.

Make your plans now, Pizza is on as always. Friday the 13th at the Keenan's will get you pizza, beer, soda (?), cute kids and even an appearance from the mysterious Kevin.

If you are coming, give me a heads up. You can also let me know if you need me to make some bread. It is sneaking in as a staple of the pizza Friday experience.

See you on Friday!

October 30th, 2009

Ok, I will promise to get back to blogging some day (yeah right!) I actually just got an email from someone wanting to interview the fam about the Splendid Table shenanigans for her masters thesis. Weird. I guess I felt more pressure at one time to keep up on things like letting others know what we eat.

It isn't quite ramen yet, but we are definitely thinking like college students these days. Which isn't fair - because I get none of the knowledge, all of the scrimping and a little extra work. But.. it gives zero excuse for not eating pizza. Cheap, easy and an excuse to see people w/o actually getting out of my sweat pants.

If I promise not to wear sweat pants, will you come? I think you should. Brigid made the cupcakes. I might get around to making some bread tonight. I have the cheese, sauce and stuff for dough. You bring the toppings and check out the new digs. First person to find the lost camera can take home a decorative item of their choice from their house. OK. Probably would just get a hug. But - if it is stolen and you do beat up the #*@) who took it from my office I really will give you your pick of stuff from the house. Just leave me my bed, you can have anything else.

See you there. Let us know to expect you so you know where to go, how to get in and what to expect when you show up. Costumes optional. Unless you are baby #1 or #2 - they think they are mandatory uniforms at this point. Did you know tigger can bounce?

September 4th, 2009

Did you miss pizza night? Probably because I didn't tell you about it. That is, if you are still out there. We stayed with the Pizza tradition for the most part. Last Friday we headed out to Jakeeno's to eat Pizza on the Patio. We ended up taking over the patio with yelly girls and a little spaghetti throwing. Hopefully the server wasn't too put out. But, the house is sold, the August B-days have been had. Life is good.

But, that is all past. Going forward, we are going to have pizza this Friday. But, since we are in hiding at some undisclosed location, we will have to have pizza in the park. The plan is to use the park one block North of the Randolph and Marshall intersection. I don't know its name. I don't even know if it has a grill right now. All I know is that we can walk there and we could eat there. I am pretty sure if you are discrete about it, you could even drink there. My plan is to use the gift card I won for HomeMade Pizza.

Because this is an on the road edition of Pizza Friday - you might want to let us know if we should expect you in the event of rain or other scheduling mishaps. Email or phone works for us. See you soon?

7/31/09 - Game on!

We are planning a party Friday night. Hopefully a celebration. I am speaking much too soon and I will feel bad for doing it, but I can't help it. When you feel good, you feel good. So come celebrate or commiserate. Pizza Friday - good eats with a side of extra potato salad. Brendan said some of the pizza will be made from French Bread. Yum. You might even see a b-day cake appear for some August b-days that light my life.
How can you turn that down?

You know you miss pizza (7/24)

Where have you been? We have missed you. There has been a lot of uneaten pizza around because you have spent the summer elsewhere. Come out of hiding and come eat some pizza already.

Sure... the pizza stone is broken, but it has always been broken. Sure, we moved it to the east side of St. Paul, but that was really closer for like 60% of you. Sure the house is for sale and there is a chance that your dinner plans will be called off for a showing. We will right around the corner at the park. You will get fed. I promise.

Brendan made some killer roasted salsa this week. If it lasts until Friday. We have cash, so I see a Morelli's run in the future. You can't really resist the huge pepperoni's can you?

Who is in?

NO Pizza tonight 7/17

I wonder why our turn out is low, and then I forget to update people here, causing confusion on what will happen if you show up and I am not there. SORRY.

Tonight is one of those rare nights when we will not be having pizza Friday. It is sad, but we are going out to celebrate Teresa and Matt's wedding with the bachelor / bachelorette parties tonight.

If you really must see us, which you really should, next Friday is open. Stop on by.

This week in the Keenan family 7/3

So we are fairly lame when it comes to celebrating holidays. We don't do the whole valentines day... nothing special for the big guy on fathers day. In fact, we don't really give birthday or Christmas presents. That isn't to say that we don't get each other things. Brendan once bought me a diamond necklace just because I went on a short trip w/o him. That was really nice. That is, until I lost it. Oops.

This weekend was shaping up just like any other. We tried to come up with one stellar plan (last weekend it was picking 20 lbs of strawberries and hamburgers with peanut butter on them). We debated the ol Prairie Home Companion fiesta in Avon MN. The weather forecast put a damper on the sloppy joes and rhubarb pie plans.

Then, on the way to kickball (yes, I did kick in the winning run, thanks for asking), Brigid reminded me: "mother - there is the circus." You see, even she thinks that indoor baseball is a bit silly. Sure - why not take her to the circus and see a little baseball in action. I am up for it. Being DQ hat day only sweatens the plans. She is really more of a football fan, but I am sure a few innings won't dissapoint. Oh, and if it isn't raining, maybe we will take in a little Elvis as well. Who can argue with a "free" $10 Elvis concert?

Anyway - what do all of these Saturday plans have to do with pizza night? A lot. We are going to try to take Brigid camping Friday night. You see - we know of 40 acres that have 1 small house with people on it. Turns out, if we want to sleep in a tent on the remaining 39 and 3/4 acres, no one will really care. My main worry with camping has been her talking /crying/screaming/annoying all other campers near by. If I don't have to worry about that, there is no reason not to sleep in our own mini-circus tent.

So... that is what we will be doing. Have no fear- I did win a $25 gift certificate to HomeMade Pizza - we will have to check it out next weekend.

Friday 6/26/09

Who knew you were reading this to plan your weekends. I didn't. But, since you are, you should know that pizza does happen over the river. I never knew it was possible, but they have flour, yeast, sauce, cheese. It is amazing what the capital city can put together.

I would advise that before you come over you take the quiz. We will be analyzing your pizza/myers briggs style as we eat on the deck. To get you thinking, my pizza style is ANCS. My myers briggs... ENTP (I think).

Beer is from bottles, not homemade. The kegs have yet to cross into St. Paul for fear of bootlegging related arrests. Soon.

UN-warming the house 6/5/09

Yes, pizza is on. Hopefully the only thing that will be left unpacked is the grill and some charcoal. Brendan says he cannot pack the kegs full - so I guess it is on you to drink it. I have a few hands on deck to get all of the work done during the day - so rest assured, we will probably not ask you to do anything other then eat and take your left overs home.

You can do that right? OH, and since the house will be empty, you might want to byo-chair. If you are needy like that.

No PIZZA for you 5/22

Brigid decided to take her Birthday tour on the road this year, trying to collect rare artifacts like a balloon and a kite from the windy city of Omaha. While she is collecting her stuff and handing out kisses, you will have to make your own pizza.

Rest up. The final pizza Friday at4236 will be a good one. June 5th you can come as early as 8am and I will feed you pizza all day as you carry boxes. You know you want to...

If you want pizza w/o work, your last chance is May 29. Mark your calendars.

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

5/15/09 - I am a dunce

Yep - I was gone on the 8th. I forgot that day even happened apparently. That means only 3 Pizza Friday's left in the great city of lakes. Pick your favorite. Come, celebrate, and wow us with your fancy pizza creations.

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

5/8/09 - slide shows and sippycups

Did you miss us last week? I think you did. If you came to pizza (and if we came) we could have discussed the sale of my house. Yep - someone wants it. What does that mean?

That means you have only four Pizza Friday's remaining to enjoy the hospitality of 4236 before the fiesta moves to the St.P. Pick your weekend(s). The dates of upcoming parties are: May 8, 15,22 and June 5th.

I just found out from media services on campus that I could reserve a slide projector with carousel. I really wish I had some boring slides to make you all sit through. It would be fun for me. I guess we will just have to eat/enjoy instead. Come one, come all ... enjoy the pizza composed of whatever we have to use up from the refrigerator. I know I have some rhubarb... what else can we pile on?

NO PIZZA 5/8/09

We are going to annoy about 100 people on the 6th and the 10th of May. Hopefully they are different people each time to spread out the love of two babies traveling by air. I mean, don't you just love to sit next to those people with the kids who won't sit still no matter what you do? Yeah... so... wow. It will be neat.

But, that means you all have to eat Pizza on your own. Feel free to go to the back yard and eat there on you own if you are attached to the comfy reclining chairs. Watch out for showings though. Still more then 2 per day and a total of 31. Don't scare them off. Make them compete with each other for my love and affection. At least that is how it worked in my dream last night. Well.... it wasn't prospective home buyers - it was Dr. Cox and Turk from Scrubs. But it is all the same, right? Competition, more money, everyone is happy.

Next topic, how to fall asleep without the TV on. Especially from 11-midnight when it is on KSTC45...

5/1/09

Happy May Day. Are you going to the Parade?

This whole selling thing is so weird - you never know where you are going to be when.

We can't be home before 6pm today. You will have to wait for your pizza. That is OK right? Pizza is great outside, as the sun is setting, softly cooking over the coals. Sound like E-harmony yet?

We should work out a signal though... what can it be? I know. If my mom's big red car is in front of the house, STOP. Showing is happening. We are at the park just down the road (31st and 43rd at the elementary school). If the red car isn't there (I will move it to the back) party is on.

4/24/09

Wow have we been doing a lot of work. Pizza Friday is a welcomed reminder that people can not spend their days working working working. Everyone needs a day to relax (even me I have learned) and knowing that we just might have to have pizza and entertain is a good enough excuse for me to plop into the chair and wait for guests who may or may not come.

Did you know that we have never had a Friday when no one came? Or at least I don't remember one. How exciting! People talk to us a lot about "I don't know how you can do this..." or "It would stress me out to...." I am telling you this. If you don't come, I will make everyone in the family continue to work to pack and clean and try to sell the house at the higher price that I forced the Realtor into.

So, no pressure, but who is coming to Pizza Friday to guarantee that my poor family can have a break from my slave driving? I promise to be nice! Pizza's on the grill - rain or shine.

4/17/09

The house is clean. I mean really clean. So... I am not saying that I don't trust you, but... be prepared to sit out side. Need to use the loo? We have a cracked rain barrel in the back yard. Ok. So it isn't that bad, but Brendan said that if he has to be clean all the time, you all do too. The good news is that our outdoor furniture is more comfortable then the indoor furniture.

You can rock, you can lay down, you can recline in any number of ways or you can just sit back and direct it all in our plethora of outside chairs. There are lawn games for those who don't sit still and there are rakes for those who are just too helpful for their own good. What more could you ask for?

Sign up now and be the first to try the pulled pork and cole slaw pizza. I think it will be delish.

4/10/09

Don't be discouraged by the for sale sign in the yard. We haven't moved. Yet. Brendan says we need a bigger house for parties. So there. We will find one. But first we have to find someone to buy ours. To do that, we have to move stuff.

We are on for this Friday. In addition to your topping, money, alcohol, or whatever else you all bring to pizza Friday, you might be asked to put in a little manual labor. We are moving furniture to storage on Saturday AM and there might be a few things that failed to make the journey outside. If so, lug a box in one hand, your beer in the other and leave me to worry about what to do with your slice of pizza. I promise to take good care of it.

I have no idea what topping I will bring, if any. I do know there is some Stoli Doli left and if you didn't have it last week, know this. It will not make it through this week. Trust me. You must make some for yourself. You will not be disappointed.

Are you coming? Are you bringing the Fried Chicken? The Ranch dressing? The strudel topping? Do tell...

I should design all pizza

Ok, So probably not. But I was pretty happy when the cub foods tricked me into buying some fried chicken. And by tricked I mean put it on sale, and cooked it in store so the smell was too exciting to resist.

What does fried chicken have to do with pizza? Everything. Take some good ranch dressing, add cheese, fried chicken. Bake. Top with fresh lettuce, tomatoes and a little more ranch dressing and you have yourself a pizza. While I always think damn, we should repeat that flavor, this Pizza had me looking around the table to see who would fall for the "look over there" trick so I could snatch their piece out from under them. I am still dreaming of a little cactus bread some night. Anyone up for making that happen? Keep dreaming of your fabulous pizza ideas. I am excited to try them.

And then there was the Stoli Doli. All I can say is that I am glad I was too stupid to make this in college. I would have attended even fewer classes then I did already. It was amazing. You couldn't tell that it was straight alcohol. You couldn't tell that it was only smirnoff vodka. All you could do was drink and wonder why you ever questioned importing pineapples in the winter. Yes locavores... there is a time and place for everything.

Friday, April 3, 2009

4/3/09

I should really post more often. So that if you wanted to invite yourself you would not sit at home thinking.. hmm... is it on? Is it not? She usually posts, and now she didn't... so what does that mean? Chances are, party is always ON. Is that the way these things work?

Perhaps I should mention that Brendan has been making Stoli Doli. Perhaps I shouldn't. I hear they limit your ability to walk. Let alone drive.

We have fresh mozzarella, pineapple, artichoke hearts and celery. Is anyone out there? Anyone coming?

3/27/09

One of the funny things when you meet someone are the things you have in common that you never knew you had in common. For example: Brendan's father and my mother have the same birthday. Weird, but cool. The fact that they are both left handed, have had identical back surgeries, and will tear you from limb to limb if you mess with their kid also gives a small nod to those astrologers out there.

Why am I writing about this here? Well because that day has come. The day is near. Pizza Friday is almost here. It also happens to be THE birthday. That will mean that the rest of the Dunleavy family will come out of the woodwork (yes, Teresa included!) to join pizza Friday this week.

What does this mean for you? It means you should come also. Pizza will be there, beer will be poured, games will be played. Same as usual. Now if it would only stop raining so we can spread out to the backyard....

oh, and 10 points goes to whoever can do this. So... with that challenge ahead of you, who is in? What are you bringing?

Friday, March 20, 2009

3/20/09

Pizza. Yum. Tonight. Are you in?

Thursday, March 12, 2009

3/13/09 Pizza

Yep - Pizza. Some way some how there will be pizza. Perhaps I am too cool for the pizza though... just as soon as the party will be getting started, I will be leaving everyone. That does not mean you have to leave. Brendan will need someone to keep him company. But at 8ish - I am hitting the road. Do you want to drive me? OK. I will not argue.

Where will I be? Stalking The Hopefuls of course. Well, and The Honeydogs. Yep - taking Aya down to First Ave. She leaves on Tuesday so I thought I would do something fun with her. An 18+ show that is $12... sounds perfect! Not to mention I like both bands.

So, join us for pizza, join us for the concert. Mix and match the evening. Skip pizza, find us at the show? Great. Come for Pizza, skip the show. Fine with me. Do neither and sit home on your couch? That also is OK too. However you want to spend your Friday night is just fine with me. We will try to get through the evening without cracking or breaking anything... like the pizza stone. Again. We are cursed.

Who's in?

Thursday, March 5, 2009

March 6th - Pizza and dominoes

We know there will be pizza and game playing. I would be lying if I told you that I knew it would be in the oven or on the grill. I am actually already lying throwing dominoes out there as the game to be played. All I know is that when I get home from work tomorrow - I expect to see someone. So... who is in? What are you bringing? Can you bring me out of my kool-aid induced sugar crash?

2/27 Recap

I think pizza Friday went very well. Very very well. The new Heffe is picturesque, Pizzas were eaten and cards were played. I think one thing that is needed will be a rule book for card games. I think some rules in the Dunleavy/Keenan family were invented so that feelings don't get hurt and not because they are actual rules. Like no skipping the same person in one hand of Phase 10? Everyone jumped on me... and then skipped me. A lot.

We also learned that Brendan's method of cooking pizzas is good for a family pizza night, but to do it all night long requires a commercial pizza stone. Yes. He broke it. The good folks at the pampered chef promised quick replacement as long as Brendan never gets to cook with it again. OK, the second addition was mine - but seriously. Be careful boy. This week we might grill those pizzas - no stone to worry about there.

Have you ever worried about what to do with the leftover pizza dough? Me too. I decided caramel rolls were the way I would go with it. They had some crunchy bits from waiting for their turn in the pizza oven, but they must have been good because before I could take a picture of the baked product... they were gone! Hooray - less food waste in the Dunleavy/Keenan household.

Anyway- 6 guests - all fed and happy. I call it a success. Aside from the loss of the pizza stone and the end of the purple juice that is.

The stone has arrived Pizza 2/27 is ON

Don't forget to RSVP in the comments if you are coming. It helps those who want to avoid you know which days not to come without having to have the awkward conversation of: "pssst. is Kevin coming? Yes? Oh, then I am OUT!" I mean seriously, what did the guy ever do to you all? As far as I can tell, he looks to be getting along perfectly well with this lobster.

I wonder how the lobster would taste on the pizza. Bring one and find out! I am a little sad that the pizza will conflict with the good ol' Friday Fish Fry. Hmm... I wonder how that would taste on a pizza. Do you ever have these thoughts? Wondering about random pizza toppings? The Keenan house is a fine place to explore those inner thoughts. Well, as long as you can soul search and play cards. Then you are invited.

The beer is in kegs 2/27 is on

Your warning: amateur beer making in progress. Apparently they let you make beer before you are old enough to drink it. Who knew?

On tap: Heffe, ESB, Cider, Purple Juice, Birch beer
In bottle - lots the Cellar's is moving and at 30% off, we had to shop. This is where bribing Brendan comes into play. Too bad someone cleared out the $8-15 bottles of wine - our stock is getting dangerously low.

Anyway, Aya made it to town and she is great. She said she is excited to meet people, so your chances to chat with her and ask her how crazy it is to live with us are 2/27 and 3/13. Make your plans accordingly.

We are tracking down a temporary pizza stone so we can use two, the electric one and one TBD - we will have a bake off.

Reminder - No Pizza tonight 2/13

Brendan says that it is really because I am too afraid to host a party on Friday the 13th because things broke and people nearly died the last time we threw a party. Really, the 13 doesn't mean any more to me then the 14th does.

So... order your own pizza, think about what makes the pizza you pay for so great, and lets replicate it. Me? I am hoping for one of those east side pizzas like at Romolos. TONS of cheese and little square pizzas. Greasy, hard to eat. In fact, as it cools, some of the pieces get as hard to bite as a big piece of sushi.

Cut my squares small and only feed me sashimi and I will be happy.

Recap 2/6/09

I can tell by the overwhelming number of e-mails that I have received that everyone is dying to know how Pizza Friday went last week. Well, wait no longer - the recap has arrived.

Overall impression: Awesomely deadly.

Deadly? Yep. Turns out that Brendan is awesome (but you knew that right?) and listened when I said that there were not enough scallops in my life the other day. So what did he bring home for a pizza topping? No, not just scallops, but scallops on sale. $4.99/lb scallops.

If this is my favorite food- how did it turn deadly? Well, turns out. Two of our two guests for pizza friday - allergic to shell fish. That is OK right? just avoid the AMAZING corn and scallop pizza (hey- don't blame me that you missed it - you were invited). Well.. turns out that I was "helping" in the kitchen and browned the sausage in the scallop pan to save on dishes. Apparently, allergic is allergic and we had some prickly tongues. Oops.

Because of our failures as hosts, (poisoning the guests does count as a failure in Martha's eyes) something had to give. We had to be punished in some way. So what did we sacrifice? Pain of all pains it was the pizza stone. The very thing that makes the pizza good in the first place.

The recap is late because I wanted to be sure the new pizza stone was on order, apologies were made and I can reassure folks that 2/27 pizza night is on. Twenty five gallons of beer is currently in fermentation, a new stone is working it's way to me and Aya, our exchange student is going to be welcomed to the fiesta by all of you.

Start planning your toppings.

Pizza Friday Cancelations 2/13 and 2/20

Oh no! We just got into the routine of things and I have to make cancellations.

Both Friday Feb 13 and Friday Feb 20 have to be canceled. I know right? Those were the days you were totally going to come. Well, that just means that you have to find time on either this Friday the 6th or Friday the 27th of February.

We are going to the fair city of Des Moines for the weekend of valentines day for a romantic get away with... the Keenan family. Not that the Keenan's aren't an enjoyable lot - just seems funny to get a hotel room with your in-laws when others will be spending the weekend smooching. Oh well. I don't believe in valentines day anyway. And Feb 20th? The Swarm decided that they wanted to mix it up a little and have one Friday night game in a season of Saturday's. Really Swarm? I thought we were much tighter then that. Infact, we might be. I will just email the owner AGAIN and ask him for one more small favor.

Feburary 27th will be exciting. It will be the first pizza Friday for our exchange student Aya. She will be in town for a month staying with us. Plan your pizza innaguration accordingly.

Sorry!

Friday 2/6/09

On a separate note for those facebook initated, I mentioned that there weren't enough card players in my life. Suddenly everyone came out of the woodwork proclaiming their love for 52 spotted pieces of paper. Why have we been talking all of these years when we could have been silently engaging in games of skill?

Ok, I am really not that competitive about it, but I do love a game of cards. I figure, If people are already coming for pizza and drinks - why not set up a table for cards? I have all the supplies.

So, instead of highlighting the topic I am bringing this week, I am highlighting the fun. Cards will be played this week. If it has to be crazy 8's for the kids fine. But I am thinking more along the lines of Euchre, 500, or even phase 10. I could even get crazy and support a domino game or two.

What do you think? Who is in?

Recap 1/30/09

Success! Hopefully everyone else feels that way too. Future events plan to have a lot less smoke, hopefully no alarms going off, but aside from that - pizza was had, people were fed, drinks were poured.

My favorite pizza of the night was a huge surprise to me, but the award goes to the Seelen family for bringing the sauerkraut and kielbasa for their recreation of a Pizza Ranch pizza. I was skeptical, but it was tasty!

I think that the final count was 14 people for pizza. We still had left overs- so don't think that a large crowd means that you won't get fed. This is the Keenan household for goodness sake.

I took a photo of the left over pizza, but it looks just like that - left over pizza. Nothing that would entice you to jump on the bandwagon sweeping the cities. Pizza Friday. Invite yourself. Bring a friend. Just don't forget to RSVP in the post for the coming week.

Friday is approaching

Before you arrive I would like you to know that right at this moment, while the rest of the house is asleep, the house is clean. I can promise it won't stay that way, but if only it did - life would be GRAND!

Come prepared to step over toys and a few children of the walking variety and one of the wish-I-were-walking variety. We have slippers but you could also BYO-slippers if you wanted. Looks like a big crowd. Apparently marketing works. I had better get Beth to support my efforts soon! We could take this gig on the road. Wait. That would defeat the purpose. Oh well.

What else? Oh, In addition to my horrible do inappropriate things at the workplace kind of a dream last night I also dreamed that Brendan broke the pizza stone mid party. I am not going to say I told you so if it happens, but lets just say I am sincerely hoping I am wrong about both parts of my dream last night. Good thing we have back up cooking methods.

The beers on tap for Friday are (I think) are: cider, grape infused cider, pale ale, birch beer (soda), and something else. If only I could remember the last thing on tap - that would be helpful. Oh, I cannot remember because I am hiding it. It is a Hefeweizen. You can have some too!

Disclaimer

This is for the paranoid man in my life. When I say everyone is invited, here is how I identify everyone:

If I have ever met you in my life OR you are accompanied by someone I know.

So, if you are the long lost Brianna Geissenger - SHOW UP! However, if you are some creepy guy from the internet - stay at home please. If I know you and you are still some creepy guy on the internet, that is OK. We all like a little creepy in our lives right?

Friday 1/30/09

Pizza is on for this Friday. I am excited because we had to miss last Friday because of the Mash Out. Good excuse, but my stomach isn't believing that judging homebrew is a good excuse to miss Pizza Friday. Something about that crispy crust.

Anyway - who is coming? What or who are you bringing (if anything). Totally don't stress out about bringing/ not bringing anything or anyone. Coming to the fiesta is the most important part.
I got artichoke hearts. I love them.

I once went out for lunch at Green Mill when I was about 6 years old. The person I was with said "Let's do artichoke hearts." I said sure - not wanting to reveal how grossed out I was. Hearts on Pizza? Reminded me of the Nightmare on Elm Street movie with the faces/heads on the pizza instead of sausage. Gross.

Guess what? They were good. The movie image still haunts me but the artichokes stayed with me. See you on Friday!

Pizza for everyone

So, many of you have heard about the Pizza Friday concept. I bet many are participating in their own homes without realizing it. Here is how it is done at the Keenan's house. From here on out, unless noted here on the blog, there will be Pizza every Friday at our house. That is right, we are structured like that.

Most days, we will make pizzas on the grill, in the oven or in the mini pizza cooker. Sometimes, we may get lazy and order in. Either way - pizza will happen. Why do you care what we eat for dinner? Because you are invited of course! The lovely ladies in my life make it kind of difficult to go out. Or if we do go out, we end up breaking either the bank or someones possessions. That is why we are requesting that you bring the party to us!

That's right, you could have free pizza every Friday night if that is what you need in your life. Ideally, you would bring a topping, the pennies from your sofa, dessert or something to chip into the evening but no one will be turned away. There are plenty of days I cannot get organized enough to even put on matching socks, so I understand if you come with only you. The most special part of the evening is the people anyway - so if you decide not to come because you don't have pepperoni in your car, I will be sad.

If you have been to dinner of any kind at our house, you know that there is never a lack of food around. All I can promise is beer and pizza, but I am sure that there are other options around depending on the day.

Here are the crucial details:
1) Invite yourself. Post a comment here, call, email, facebook, whatever. Let me know you are coming at least 1 hour prior to arriving (dough needs to proof). But, if you don't let me know, come anyway - just be patient!
2) Pizza Friday is every Friday from 4:30 pm - midnight
3) Come.
4) Eat.
5) Drink.
6) Leave.

It is an open invitation, so you never know who will be there. We have babies, so it is always a baby friendly time. Don't worry about coming too often or not often enough. Just put it in your schedule to give it a try and I am sure you will be back!
